7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Below is a detailed breakdown of our retention practices:
7.1 Active Business Data
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Sales & Expenses | 12 months (then auto-archived as monthly summaries) |
| Monthly Summaries | Retained indefinitely while account is active |
| Customers, Products, Vendors | Retained while account is active |
| Integration Data (weather, trends, reviews) | Retained while integration is connected |
| Account Information | Retained while account is active |
7.2 Data Archival
Sales and expense records older than 12 months are automatically archived into monthly summaries. This process preserves key metrics (revenue, profit, top products, trends) while reducing storage. Original records are only removed after the summary is confirmed.
7.3 Account Deletion
When a business account is deleted, a 24-hour grace period allows the deletion to be cancelled. After this period, all data associated with the business is permanently and irreversibly deleted, including all records, integration data, user accounts, and AI-generated insights.
7.4 Integration Disconnection
Disconnecting a third-party integration immediately deletes all data synced from that service. This cannot be undone — reconnecting will start a fresh sync.
7.5 Requesting Deletion
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@mydatasync.com. In accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), we will process deletion requests within 30 days.
